Sonoma’s best live-fire cooking
Sonoma Magazine puts us in good company and says:
The rooftop lounge-restaurant at The Matheson boasts a 3,800-pound, custom-tiled Mugnaini wood-fired oven. Don’t miss blistered shishito peppers with Marcona almonds and housemade chorizo or elaborate pizzas with toppings like duck confit.

Lucky Locals
We’re in good company with the Press Democrat mentioning our new Local-focused tasting menu: The Matheson has debuted a special three-course tasting menu geared to those lucky enough to call Sonoma County home. The Local’s Menu, which launched this week, is $58 for three courses and is served beginning at 5 p.m., Sunday to Thursday. The menu changes every two weeks, based on what produce is in season. It will highlight a local farm, with a suggested local wine pairing. Options on the first menu include duck from Liberty Farms and chocolate pot de creme for dessert.

Make Chef Brian's Pizza At Home
Press Democrat describes: In many countries, showcasing round items is popular on New Year’s Eve because the circular shape symbolizes money and wealth, and tradition says honoring the items will boost your income for the next 12 months. You can put on your favorite polka-dot outfit for the evening and fill your pockets with coins, if you like.
Even better, eat plenty of round foods like doughnuts, cookies, cakes, grapes, oranges and that global favorite, pizza.

PRIOR: Healdsburg's Top Dining Destinations
Having led some of the area's most beloved restaurants, chef Dustin Valette is a Healdsburg culinary hero of sorts. The Matheson, an ambitious project spanning a restaurant and Roof 106, a chic rooftop bar, is his latest contribution to the area's dining scene, showcasing what Valette does best: satisfying dishes that will please both classicists and adventurous eaters. The menu downstairs is heftier (think duck-andshrimp shumai dumplings with kimchi and foie gras), while the upstairs bar is all about wood-fired pizzas with toppings like pork belly and summer squash carpaccio, plus refreshing cocktails and excellent people-watching.
